Davide Cucino is the new President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China - For the first time an Italian will lead the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China. On 25th April its members elected Davide Cucino, Head of China Operations of Fata (Finmeccanica). Mr. Cucino, outgoing Vice President, is succeeding Jacques de Boisséson, Head of Total in China. In his first address as President, Mr. Cucino underlined that the European Chamber "has become an interlocutor the Chinese Authorities pay high attention to", also through dossiers relevant to the environment in which the European companies are operating within the Country. This is why it will be necessary to "keep a very high level of accuracy, in order to maintain the current position of relevance". In a context where - as is well known - the Chinese Authority prefer bilateral relation rather than dealing with only one European interface, the newly elected President's wish is that "the Chamber may contribute so that Europe expresses itself in only one voice".
